New Giveaway - $25 Tony D's Gift Card!

It's giveaway time again! This time I have a gift card from Tony D's in Corn Hill, good for $25 toward anything on the menu.
I've written about Tony D's before, and it's good stuff. It also got this rave review by a fellow pizza blogger from Florida. I had lunch at Tony D's recently, and while I'm not doing a full-blown review this time, I've included some photos here so you can get a look at their coal-fired pizza. They do more than just pizza, as you can see from their menu, but pizza is the main draw here.
I usually begin these giveaways on a Friday, but this Friday I'm busy and may not have time, so I'm starting a day early. But it will run till next Friday, August 31. To enter, just leave a comment, any comment, at the end of this blog post. I'd prefer that it be on-topic (your opinion of Tony D's, why you'd like to win, or anything pizza-related), but that's not a requirement. Shortly after noon on the 31st, I'll pick a winner at random. Leave as many comments as you like, but multiple entries will not increase your chances of winning.
If you do win, I'll need a way to contact you, and get the gift card to you in the mail, so either include an email address in your comment (not necessary, if I can get it from your Blogger profile), or email me at rochesternypizzaguy@gmail.com, with your screen name, real name, and postal address. I won't share them with anyone - it's strictly so I can mail the card to you if you win.

  1. Tony D's pizza is good! Have you tried Magnolia's pizza? Their quatro formaggio is one of my favorites.

  2. Definitely one of the best pizza places in Rochester and it seems to be between Tony D's and Rocco's for the hot oven style pizzas I love.

  6. Good idea, it is really hard to think what would be the perfect gift. Household things or baby stuffs might be one of them; the price of the gift will not matter as long as you give it with all your heart.

  11. Oh hey! Thank you for the opportunity to win a Tony D's gift card. ... Let's see, an on topic comment ... Well, I've been to Tony D's a few times and I think they're pizza can be pretty good. The middle bit always has been at least; two of the three times, the crust at the edge has been a bit too well-cooked to be edible, and I'm pretty permissive about such things. They do offer fair warning in their menu that pizzas get cooked to that point, so I don't hold it against them, and the 95% of the pie is always pretty darn good. I heartily agree with Dawn - the Arancini are killer and might be the main draw for me.

Off topic stuff: Hey, thanks for the blog. I moved to rochester back in november, and I've your blog has been my favorite of the Local genre. I check in and read back posts at least once a month; someday, I'll have to ask advice about how to get my Peter Reinhart inspired pizza's just right. Lastly, I'll put a plug for Little Venice pizza over here in the south wedge. They're just my local joint, but I'm impressed by how tasty they can be. They're a touch inconsistent, and if things get too greasy they can get a bit soggy, but their pies tend to have a real nice flavor and pleasant crust. Especially the smalls. I recommend trying a small pie. The ratio of crust to toppings and how well cooked the crust gets seems to turn out the best.

  12. I have never eaten legit pizza here in Portland, but I am frequently nomming on it wherever else I eat it on my travels. Lately, we've been making our own - Tony's Garlic Bread for crust - white, red, green onion, garlic, spinach, olives, and three cheese. I'm not very creative, haha!
